Cryptic Species
Art to me is as much about visual study as it is about physically exploring and creating. My interest’s are in the observation of botanical forms, their substructures and surfaces. Through my observations of nature, I create works that mimic living organisms. While each piece is distinct and unique many share similar traits of basic shapes and surfaces.
These works mirror elements of existing organic life and combine synthetic and non-traditional materials to create a tension between the definable and the indefinable.
